Joyce Ann (Clark) Simmons, 65, of Crimora, VA, passed away, surrounded by her family, at 9:50 p.m. on Friday January 17, 2025 at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville, VA.
Joyce was born on Friday May 22, 1959 in Waynesboro, VA, a daughter of Kenneth Edward Clark and Silver (Jean) Cubbage “Sylvia” Clark.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents; ex-husband, Jerry Simmons; and granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Mongold.
Joyce is survived by her brother, Darryl Edward Clark of Crimora; daughter, Rachel (Marie) Mongold Jackson of New Hope; son, William Brian "BJ" Mongold (Ellen Fridley) of Crimora; granddaughters, Hailey Evens Mongold of Roanoke, Skylar Marie (Mongold) Freeman (Spencer) of Staunton, and Jenny Lynn Mongold of Crimora; grandsons, Dakota Ryan Mongold of Staunton, and Lucas Joseph Mongold of Crimora; granddog, Honey Jewel of New Hope; great-granddaughter, Rebella J. Mongold McKinny of Roanoke, and great-grandsons, Caine and Deacon Mongold of Staunton, and Declan and Stetson Freeman of Staunton.Joyce's remains were cremated and reside with her two children, Rachel and BJ.
The family would like to take a moment to thank Dr. Heck and the nursing staff at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville. Everyone has been and continues to be amazing throughout this process. We can never thank you enough for all the support, compassion, and understanding you have shown my mom and our family during the time of my mom's passing.
